October 16, 2024
Dear Families,
Fall Festival will happen on Saturday. Each day, a few children tell me they are counting down, excitedly.
This is also the weekend we celebrate CPE’s fiftieth anniversary. On Friday at 10:00, our fourth and fifth graders will be in the auditorium to speak with early staff members, including three of the teachers who founded the school back in 1974.
Please join us at 2:00 on Friday for our special All-School Sing with CPE alumni. This will be a beautiful event.
Contact Lists Sent
A copy of our class contact lists has been sent to families through remind.com. These class lists help families meet one another and stay in touch.
When you filled out your emergency contact information earlier this year, you decided which information contact we could include in our family directory. The information families authorized us to share is what appears in our contact lists.
Book for You in Your Child’s Backpack
By the end of this week, you will have a new book, Raising Resilience: How to Help Our Children THRIVE in Times of Uncertainty.
Raising Resilience is the latest book from Tovah Klein, a professor, the director of the Center for Toddler Development, and – maybe most importantly for our community – a former CPE1 parent. Through a special gift, all CPE1 families will get their own copy of Tovah’s new book.
Check your child’s backpack on Thursday or Friday. The copy of Raising Resilience in the backpack is yours. We have enough for one per family; the backpack of the oldest sibling will be the one carrying the book.
In the days before Fall Festival, I become just like a CPE kid, counting down the days. First, we have special events on Friday. I hope you can be there.
